We are so excited to welcome you and your Kindergartner to James Walker Elementary! Please join us for a fun and informative evening designed to help you and your child feel confident and ready for the school year ahead.
đź“… Kindergarten Orientation Night
đź•ź Thursday at 5:00 PM
đź“Ť Enter through the Gym Doors (North Parking Lot)
✨ Evening Agenda:
4:45 PM – Doors Open
- Enter through the gym doors
- Students pick up name tags and sit in their designated class sections
- Please bring your child’s school supplies with you
5:00 PM – Welcome & Introductions (Gym)
- Meet our staff and learn important information about the year ahead
5:15 PM – Student Activities Begin
- JWE staff will guide students on a fun tour of the school bus, playground, and cafeteria
- Students will learn about bus safety, recess routines, and lunch procedures
- A light snack of cheese pizza, water, and a cookie will be provided
5:15 PM – Parent Session (Gym)
- While students tour, parents will stay in the gym for a curriculum overview and important Kindergarten information
5:30 PM – Classroom Visits
- Parents will walk with teachers to visit their child’s classroom
5:50 PM – Students Return to Classrooms
- Reunite with your child and explore the school together
5:50–6:00 PM – Self-Guided School Tour
- Visit the Art Room, Library, Music Room, Playground, Office, Counselor’s Office, Gym, and Cafeteria
- Stop by the cafeteria to add money to your child’s lunch account
- Visit the PTA table in the front hallway to learn how you can get involved
6:00 PM – Orientation Concludes
- Families are welcome to stay for our Annual Title I Parent Meeting at 6:15 PM in the gym
