WARRIOR UPDATES

In cooperation with local entities and neighboring school districts, we've made the decision to extend our school closure through April 24.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation.

School Closure till April 24th

Beginning Monday, March 23rd, eleven of our buildings will be offering meal pick up services for BSSD students Monday-Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

These to-go bagged meals will include lunch and a breakfast item and be offered as drive-thru or walk-up options.

Additionally, we will be offering meal drop off at six other locations where many BSSD families live or stay.

Please help us stay healthy and safe by refraining from coming to a pickup or drop off location if you or anyone in your family is ill.

JWE Important Updates

For the Week of March 30th

Good evening Warriors!

Wow! What a beautiful weekend. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, the weather was GORGEOUS! Just what we needed.

JWE plans to continue sending home our weekly email newsletters to our families every Sunday. In this communication we are going to continue having this week’s events as well as fun activities your family can try at home from our awesome teachers. We will have engaging lessons that are put together from Mrs. McMurray (our literacy coach), Coach Small (our physical education teacher), Mrs. King and Mrs. Strickland (our librarians), Mrs. Crosley (our music teacher), Mrs. Kern (our art teacher), and Mrs. Riggs (our counselor). I would encourage everyone to try adding this into your routine. These are fun activities that you can try at home. The kids will love them!

Hopefully by now everyone is starting to get settled into a new routine. This is definitely different. I know I can speak for our teachers and staff at JWE that we miss you guys terribly! This is definitely heavy on our hearts but please know we are still here to help. Teachers are working from home now and have office hours from 9am-2pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday every week. On Wednesday their office hours are from 9am-6pm. They are available to answer any questions that you have or if you are needing more resources please email or give them a call. Packets are not due until April 24th. Next week’s email will have more information on how we are going to collect these packets.

We will have someone in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am-2pm. If you have any questions, please call JWE during these times at 816-874-3660. You are always welcome to email us, and we will get back to you as quickly as possible. Again, we are here for you.

Don’t forget that JWE has free breakfast and lunch meals we are serving Monday- Friday from 11pm-1pm to our community for students 18 years and younger. We would love for you to come up to JWE and grab a warm meal for your kiddo(s).

The state of Missouri announced this past week that we will NOT be conducting the MAP test this year (cue the happy dance).

Lastly, we want to thank everyone for showing up to our JWE staff parade last Thursday. What an incredible time! We were all excited to see you. I know I could not stop smiling for days! We definitely need to do this more often. Thanks for the wonderful signs, the smiles, the waves, the cheers, the chalk art, so fun! We loved every minute of it.

We love you Warriors and miss you! We will get through this. Stay #WarriorStrong and safe. We will be in touch. Please call or email us if you need anything.

Love,

Mrs. Brownsberger

JWE Principal
